15 Homemade Dance Class Snacks

“Don’t forget your snack!” is something I yell to my daughter after school 4 out of 7 days a week.

She takes multiple dance classes a day, several days a week and she needs those quick snack breaks to keep her going strong like the energizer bunny that she is.

Admittedly, sometimes we are in a hurry and haven’t been grocery shopping in a minute so it ends up being a bag of chips or something else that isn’t the most nutritious item…eek.

So lately we’ve been making a more conscious effort to keep healthy snacks and ingredients on hand so that my daughter has the right fuel to keep her shaking it for a few hours!

I originally wanted to find a small handful of quick recipes to share with y’all so I reached out to some of my blogger friends to ask for their favorites and I was blown away by the amount of amazing HOMEMADE snack recipes they threw at me.

So what originally was a short list is now a plethora of snacks that your dancer (or other athlete, or yourself) can munch on to keep that energy flowing and those tummies satisfied.

Here are 15 amazing HOMEMADE & HEALTHY snacks to send to class with your dancer!

HOMEMADE CHEESE ITS!

Are your kids cheese-a-holics? Mine are. Anything cheese flavored or containing cheese in the name and they are typically sold. This delicious snack is from realfoodrn.com and only has 5 ingredients (and one of them is water!). Super easy, super perfect.

CHEWY NO BAKE GRANOLA BARS

Ohhh this homemade granola bar snack from happykitchen.rocks is picture perfect and tastes amazing, Seeds, oats, nuts are the staples of this recipe that will fuel your athlete and satisfy their tummies.

PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE ENERGY BALLS

APPLE SANDWICHES

My kids LOVE making these almost as much as eating them. This 4 ingredient snack from thriftyjinxy.com hits the spot and is good for your dancer/child/self! Tip – because these can be a teensy bit messy (not enough to stop us from devouring them!) we transport them to dance in a small Tupperware container as opposed to a ziploc bag.

SNACK QUESADILLAS (BLUEBERRY & PEANUT BUTTER!)

This is actually a 4-for-1 recipe! In addition to the mouthwatering blueberry peanut butter yougurt combo wereparents.com includes the how-to you need to make a s’mores, peanut butter banana chocolate, and a banana peanut butter and jelly version of this quesadilla. Yum!

NO BAKE HEALTHY CHOCOLATE ROCKY ROAD BARS

 

This no-bake snack recipe from foodmeanderings.com had us at “Rocky Road” but once we actually made it we were hooked for life. It is sooo good! I didn’t know I needed butterscotch chips in my life until these came around.

BANANA CINNAMON OAT BITES

It sounds like a delicious breakfast cereal but its acually a perfectly shaped and sized snack that you can send with your kid to keep them fueled all afternoon long. caseythecollegeceliac.blogspot.com is another great site with several snack recipe options! We are big fans of Casey’s homemade trail mix. Just the right amount of sweet and salty and healthy for your kid at the same time. We’re for it.

BACON RANCH PINWHEELS

My kid loves turkey wraps. These are the perfect size for her to pop in some protein between dance classes to keep her tapping all the way until ballet. joyfilledeats.com  throws in bacon and cheese and the rest is deliciousness.
